PhD dissertation on sustainable development

In the PhD dissertation, sustainable development would be discussed as one of the main research subjects. In this dissertation, sustainable development is introduced as one of the important indexes of economic development and also gross national product. Thus, for researchers of the PhD dissertation, it is regarded as one of the determining indexes of economic growth and welfare. In the PhD dissertation in economy, assessment of relationship between sustainable development and gross national product is important, so that green production could be considered as the index for sustainable development. We read in this dissertation that growth in national production is a positive and effective factor for economic growth and raising level of the public welfare. However, what has been stated in the results of this dissertation, is that during recent decades, growing production has been occurred, without paying due attention to environmental criteria and standards. In this PhD dissertation, we learn that this has been occurred just in order to access product market of the foreign countries and by using non-friendly technologies toward environment. We read in this dissertation that improper utilization of resources and energy has led to a lot of pollutions including emission of the greenhouse gases. In the Ph.D. dissertation of economy, the main goal is to study effect of sustainable development on the national gross product of Iran. In the PhD dissertation of economy, calculation of the green production helps us to properly determine the relationship between sustainable development and gross national product. Therefore, In this dissertation, green national product is calculated for different periods before and after the Islamic revolution and also it is compared with the gross national product. Results of this dissertation indicate that an non-proportional trend exists between gross national product and sustainable development. Therefore, in this dissertation, paying attention to economic policies regarding the economy of Iran seems to be necessary.
