One of the new and popular subjects for PhD researchers in strategic management is topic of packaging management. Packaging is not an absolute concept and what we learn with regard to packaging definition in PhD dissertation in business policy is that a relative definition exists that its nature and quality is dependent to another thing. In this dissertation, a general relative concept lacking signs, limits and boundaries is mentioned as to packaging. We read in the PhD dissertation in strategic management that packaging is at the encountering center of six requirements of the customer. These requirements include laws and regulations, provisions, market, environment and the sales point. We read in the PhD dissertation of business policy that due to development of the world trade and also new life-styles, shrinking family sizes and tendency of customers to convenience, possibility of growth in this industry is more than before. Studies show that since 1990, a lot of interest has been paid to packaging, especially environmental problems. The proposal for the packaging procedure has been welcomed by the EU in December, 1994. In the PhD dissertation of strategic management, minimum amount of packaging wastes and materials recycling have been introduced as objective of this procedure. In studies of the PhD dissertation on strategic management, environmental concerns are of important considerations to many of the customers in the packaging industry. In this dissertation, the author aims to classify products in a better and less expensive manner, while being more “green”, as well. Therefore, in this dissertation, green packaging is mentioned as a positive sales point for many of the European countries. Also, there is a growing competition for developing cost-effective materials that could be considered of green reputation in the market, while having applicability of the conventional packagings and this is of interest to the authors of dissertation in strategic management.
